A lost breed, and a new one

The lost breed? All of you who have teacher trained with us

The new breed? Our next cohort of teachers

Personal accountability. Mentorship. Transformation. Healing.

Past, present and future, these are our goals for our teachers, so you can embody the Yoga with which you know you want to nourish yourself, and to share with the world.

We are determined to take you with us on a path that increases clarity and a sense of wellbeing and wholeness in a confusing and fragmented world. On a journey with tools to navigate through the barriers to your most authentic and cherish-able inner, peaceful being. Through a training that fosters a life-long practice and connection - to teachers, teachings and colleagues worldwide.

Our new learn-at-your-own-pace format has landed! Near or far, you can train with us now, and we invite all of you who want to deeply learn and/or teach healing Yoga: online, self-paced Teacher Trainings. All cohorts meet once monthly only (online or in person if you are local) for three hours to review the pre-recorded course material. In between modules, you have a plethora of rich, Krishnamacharya Yoga wisdom to listen and study through at your own pace.

The start date? June, 2025

The time commitment?

  • 100 Hour Immersion: Four months

  • 200 Hour: Ten months

  • 300 Hour: Fifteen months

Bonus: For this inaugural edition of these trainings, unlimited Yoga Foundation group classes are included for the duration of your training!

An original stipulation of Mr. Desikachar’s, upon approving a limited number of us to train teachers in the Krishnamacharya lineage, was minimum 500 hours and three years Our initial trainings honored that. The American marketplace, saturated with highly diluted and appropriated Yoga-esque, quick certifications that appealed to the consumer culture, did not jive with that for long. Following a few 500 hour trainings, I reconsidered.

Next incarnation: 200 hour trainings followed by 300 hour trainings, less daunting to step into, more likely to flourish. That work for the next few trainings. The attrition rate was excellent, minus a few students, as once you step on to this path, if your whole self feels its power, it becomes your tattva, your path for life.

Next incarnation: 200 hour stand alones. 3 years is a long time to train. Maybe you are becoming a parent. Navigating a change in relationship status. Dealing with a family health issue. Perhaps your child is graduating soon and you don’t want to miss the precious moments. We see this as a bookmark for our 200 hour trainees, a place you can collectively return to when the time is right, to complete your next 300 hours.

Next incarnation: Self-paced, stand alone 100, 200 and 300 hours. Our aim here, although these stray from the original plan, is to nourish the student and teacher in you at a pace that is less rigorous and more practical in the post-pandemic and constant pandemonium culture. We still move through these together; however, with more wiggle room to learn at your own pace.
